CHP DUI Warrant Taskforce

|

After receiving a federal grant, the CHP intends to reduce the backlog of outstanding California DUI cases. With 330,000 misdemeanor and felony DUI arrest warrants outstanding, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) recently announced its new task force formed for the purpose of serving DUI warrants across the state.

DUI warrants target the individuals who did not complete the necessary actions when they were charged with a DUI. These include failing to appear before a judge or violating probation.

Joe Farrow, CHP Commissioner, suggests that the CHP will be aggressive in its location of individuals under warrant in DUI related cases. CHP teams are supposed to conduct sweeps through September 30, 2011.

If you believe that you did not complete the necessary actions associated with a DUI charge such as failing to complete your alcohol program, take the MADD panel, or pay your fines and fees, contact the Law Offices of Scott D. Hughes today to discuss your options at 714-423-6928.
